The Town Council has limited powers in relation to highway improvements, which remain the responsibility of the Highway Authority. However, we are committed to promoting safe and considerate use of Emersons Green Lane for everyone.
New ‘Share Space’ signs have been installed along the lane to help raise awareness of the Highway Code’s Hierarchy of Road Users. This guidance recognises that those in charge of vehicles capable of causing the greatest harm bear the greatest responsibility to reduce the danger they pose to others.
The signs serve as a reminder that pedestrians, cyclists and motorists should all use the route with care, respect and consideration for one another.
