Emersons Green’s First Repair Café Launches September 2026
After months of planning and preparation, Emersons Green is set to welcome its very first Repair Café, with the inaugural event taking place on Saturday 12 September 2026.
The Repair Café is a community-led initiative designed to help residents repair everyday items instead of throwing them away. With the support of skilled local volunteers, visitors can bring along a range of items including small electrical appliances, clothing and textiles, bicycles, toys and other household items for assessment and repair. Repair Cafés are about much more than fixing broken possessions. They help reduce waste, save money, share practical skills, and bring people together. By repairing rather than replacing, residents can play an important role in reducing the amount of waste sent to landfill while also extending the life of products that still have plenty of use left in them.

10:00am to 12:00pm
Future sessions are planned to take place on the second Saturday of each month, providing an ongoing opportunity for residents to access repair support and connect with others in the community.
The project has been made possible thanks to the dedication of local volunteers who have given their time and expertise to help establish the café. Their enthusiasm and commitment have helped turn the idea into a reality, creating a valuable new community resource for Emersons Green.
Whether you have a faulty appliance, torn clothing, a bicycle in need of attention, or simply want to learn more about repairing and reusing everyday items, everyone is welcome to come along.
